SNO-GOPHERS SKI CLUB
Club Profile
In 1965, pioneer radio personality Holmes “Daddy-O” Daylie put out a call over the Chicago airwaves to come ski with him. He organized the Ski Fun League, known today as the Sno-Gophers Ski Club.

The Sno-Gophers Ski Club is the 3rd oldest African-American ski club in the United States, proudly boasting as one our members, Mr. Art Clay, co-founder of the National Brotherhood of Skiers (NBS) and member of the Class of 2019 U.S. Ski & Snowboard Hall of Fame!

With members across the country, we are still actively recruiting new members, striving to provide opportunities for skiing enthusiasts who want to ski regularly, yet inexpensively, and encouraging participation of our youth through the Junior Sno-Gophers Ski Club.

Every year we travel to great destinations to ski. We often join other clubs from the (NBS) and the Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council (CMSC) on joint trips. However, we don’t just ski. We camp, bowl, roller skate, bike ride, and participate in additional activities all year long.

We invite you to join us as well!
